Sopelem (Som Berthiot) 50mm f/0.95 is one of the most researched lenses. This is heavy, strong, beautiful and very rare. Som Berthiot has made the same lens for Taylor Hobson with « Sopelem » name. In 1965, Som Berthiot became Sopelem and has produced for many other companies ( Taylor Hobson, Foca … ).

This lens is very surprising !!! The bokeh is incredible, very creamy and it’s sharp !!! I can’t explain it but this lens is very particular.  Tested on Nikon D810

The Angenieux type s21 50mm f1.5 is considered like one of the best old lens ever made and one of the most researched. This is the first vintage lens 50mm with a great aperture.  My lens serial number is : 656923, made in 1959.

All photos were shot at f1.5 with no post accentuation. The reputation of the angenieux 50mm f1.5 is justified, sharpness is really great for an old lens. Bokeh is awesome, slightly swirly. Low contrasts at f1.5 but it gives an « old style » with great colors.

Nikkor AIS 50mm f/1.2 is very beautiful lens more compact than others f/1.2 nikkor lenses. My copy is in very good condition with all caps, serial number : 361627.

Really great bokeh but low contrasts and sharpness at f/1.2. At f/2.8 this is better and bokeh is always present. The Nikkor AIS 50mm f/1.2 is researched so his price is high.
